There was a cohesive effort from start to finish. Key decision makers stepped into project management roles to provide immediate direction for maximum speed. Managing the project as design-build sped up everything from permits to road designing and construction.
Redesignating County Hwy. A to State Hwy. A allowed use of state rehabilitation dollars and eminent domain for quick funding. It was June, 2008, when an embankment failure drained Lake Delton and washed out Hwy. A. By early December of that year, reconstruction was complete and the lake was being refilled.
