James Owens was promoted to
chairman and CEO of Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar
Inc. to replace the retiring Glen Barton. Owens was
previously group president.
Caterpillar Inc. is a manufacturer of construction and mining
equipment, clean diesel and natural gas engines and industrial
gas turbines.

Chicago-based McClier has
announced Thomas Rossiter was
named managing director of the facilities business segment
of parent company Aecom Technology
Corp. in Los Angeles. Rossiter, who was formerly McClier
president, will continue to be based in Chicago. Angelo
Kokkino was named executive vice president of corporate
development and will continue to lead McClier's Aviation and
Aerospace division. Paul Springthorpe
was promoted to executive vice president of operations from
senior vice president of the firm's Southeast Regional Operations.
McClier is a design-build firm.

Jack Healy, senior geotechnical
engineer with Springfield, Ill.-based Hanson
Professional Services, an engineering and architecture
firm, was named honorary member of the year by the Association
of State Dam Safety Officials in Lexington, Ky.
He received the tribute for contributing to the advancement
of dam safety over a 40-year career.

Susan L.B. Jacobson, founder and owner of Glen Ellyn, Ill.-based
Bartells/Jacobson Design, a landscape architecture firm, took
office as president of the American Society of Landscape Architects
in Washington, D.C.

Robert Hawkins was promoted
to vice president of Milwaukee-based The
Bentley Co. He was previously senior project manager.
The Bentley Co. is a general contractor.

Michael Metz was promoted to
vice president of project management and field operations
for Oak Brook, Ill.-based Krusinski
Construction Co. He was previously senior project manager.
Krusinski Construction Co. provides general-contracting services.

Richard Niemi was named senior
medical planner in the Healthcare Practice of Chicago-based
Loebl Schlossman & Hackl.
He was previously senior associate for Cannon Design, also
located in Chicago.

Chicago-based Bowman, Barrett
& Associates Inc. has announced the promotions
of Brian Umbright, to assistant
vice president from associate, and Jeffery
Jackowski, to construction department manager from
resident engineer. Richard Stafford
was named head of civil engineering. He was previously senior
transportation engineer in Chicago with CH2M Hill.

Murrill Murphy was named sales
and marketing manager for Morton Grove, Ill.-based Roughneck
Concrete Drilling & Sawing Co. He was previously
in sales and marketing with Cleveland-based Procut.

cutter.

La Dawn Taylor was named vice
president of business development for Chicago-based Interior
Space International, a unit of A. Epstein & Sons
International Inc. She was previously business development
manager for Regus Business Centre, also in Chicago.
Interior Space International provides interior design services.

Dennis Slater, president of the Milwaukee-based Association
of Equipment Manufacturers, was elected 2004 chairman of the
International Association for Exposition Management, the trade
group for the worldwide exhibition industry. He will head
the IAEM Board of Directors as it promotes the growth of the
exposition industry and provides educational resources to
more 3,600 members in 46 countries.

Randy Kennedy was named operations
manager in Carmi, Ill., for Homewood, Ill.-based Graycor
Blasting Co. He was previously business development
manager for W-S Industrial Services in Oklahoma City.
Graycor provides construction, maintenance and facilities
services.

Penny Bouchard has joined Crystal
Lake, Ill.-based Baxter & Woodman
Inc. as an environmental specialist. She was previously
an industrial environmental controller for the North Shore
Sanitary District in Gurnee, Ill.
Baxter & Woodman Inc. provides water, wastewater, transportation
and municipal engineering services.

Gregory Fisher was named business
development manager for Alsip, Ill.-based The
Lombard Co. He was previously manager of sales for
Rochelle, Ill.-based PBM Concrete.
