Alan Schachtman was named senior vice president of Chicago-based Fifield Cos.
He previously led the development division of U.S. Equities Realty in Chicago.
Fifield Cos. is a development firm.

Martin Umlauf was named the new president/secretary of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters after the death of Earl Oliver. Umlauf was previously second vice president.

Turner Construction Co., of New York has announced John DiCiurcio, executive vice president in Chicago, was selected to be a member of a Chicago Mayor Richard Daley-appointed task force on contract set-asides. The task force will provide recommendations on structuring the city's program for minority-and-women-owned firms. Stephen Fort, vice president and general manager, was appointed to the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce's board of directors.
Turner Construction Co. is a general contractor.

Graycor Construction Co. Inc. of Homewood, Ill., has announced the promotions of David Wing to general manager and Bill Ledyard to senior project manager.
Wing was previously senior project manager, and Ledyard was previously project manager. Graycor Construction Co. Inc. is a general contractor.

Henneman, Raufeisen and Associates Inc. of Champaign, Ill., has announced Joseph Summers was promoted to president from president of the firm's Industrial Technology Group. David Mauck adds chief operating officer to his duties as Henneman, Raufeisen and Associates Inc. is an engineering and architecture firm.

Walter Lander, senior project engineer for Park Ridge, Ill.-based Ragnar Benson Inc., recently participated in railroad international studies in Africa and China sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency in Arlington, Va. He made two trips to Windhoek, Namibia, in the spring and one to Beijing in the summer.

John Birazzi has joined Chicago-based Booth Hansen as senior technical director. He was previously director of technical quality for Chicago-based OWP&P. Booth Hansen provides architectural services.

Richard Hepperla was named senior vice president and general manager of low-voltage drives for New Berlin, Wis.-based ABB Inc. He was previously business manager of Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation. ABB Inc. is a manufacturer of electric motors.

William Siegfriedt, was named manager of the operations department in Chicago for Muscatine, Iowa-based Stanley Consultants Inc. He was previously a project manager with MWH Americas Inc. in Chicago. Stanley Consultants Inc. provides engineering, environmental and construction services.

Jason Ericksen was promoted to director of the American Institute of Steel Construction's Steel Solutions Center. He was previously solutions center advisor. The Steel Solutions Center provides technical assistance, solutions or tools for structural design.

Gert Grohmann, the associate safety and training director of the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee, was appointed to serve on the Wisconsin Apprenticeship Advisory Council in Madison. He will serve a three-year term.

Ralph Wiser was elected to the board of directors of Oak Brook, Ill.-based Anderson Mikos Architects Ltd. He is a senior vice president. Anderson Mikos Architects Ltd. specializes in health care architecture and interior design.

Steven Miazga was promoted to business development manager of Brookfield, Wis.- based R.A. Smith & Associates Inc. He was previously coordinator of business development. R.A. Smith & Associates Inc. offers civil engineering, planning,
surveying and technical services.

McShane Construction Corp. in Rosemont, Ill., has announced Matthew Andrews and James Robinson Jr. joined the firm as project engineers. Andrews was previously engineer-in-training with KN2 Crest, and Robinson was previously lead estimator with Naperville, Ill.-based DuKane Precast Inc. McShane Construction Corp. offers design-build services.

Alyssa Pfennig has joined the Indianapolis-based Associated General Contractors of Indiana as a receptionist and administrative assistant. She was previously an intern with Subaru of Indiana Automotive.

Chris Bailey was promoted to sales manager for Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Specialty Construction Brands' TEC. He was previously eastern regional sales manager. TEC is a brand of installation, care and maintenance of tile and natural stone flooring.

Howard Hinterthuer was named director of marketing of Cedarburg, Wis.-based Groth Design Group. He previously owned Communicraft, a marketing firm in Cedarburg. Groth Design Group Inc. focuses on church and private school design
and construction.

Cordeck in Rosemont, Ill., has announced Vern Landin joined the firm as project engineer and Kathy Buyarski as electrified cellular system sales manager. Landin was previously senior applications engineering technician with Williamstown, W.Va.-based Walker Systems Inc., and Buyarski was previously a sales representative with Neenah, Wis.-based Engineered Representation Inc. Cordeck manufactures roof deck, floor deck and other building products.

Jimmy Fullbright was named manager of the Forestry Division of Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based Dressta North America. He was previously corporate business manager with Moline, Ill.-based John Deere & Co. Dressta North America markets construction equipment.

Nick Quartier was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for Itasca, Ill.-based Reichel & Drews. He was previously sales executive. Reichel & Drews is a designer and builder of production systems and machines for asphalt-based roofing.

Manny Lopez was named a contract sales representative in Willowbrook, Ill., for Green Bay, Wis.-based LaForce Inc. He was previously in contract sales for BSH Chicago in Joliet, Ill. LaForce Inc. is a distributor of door hardware and manufacturer
of metal frames and doors.

Scott Humphreys was promoted to manager of corrosion protection of the Schaumburg, Ill.-based Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute.
He previously managed CRSI's epoxy plant certification program

Robin Loewenberg Berger was appointed to the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association's board of directors. She is the vice president of NPP Residential & Development.
