HIRES

Ping Jiang was named principal in Chicago of Baltimore-based RTKL. He was previously studio head and senior design of Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLC. RTKL provides architecture, engineering and planning services.

Bernard Schulze was named manager of the Structural and Transportation Laboratory of Skokie-based CTLGroup. He was previously staff consultant for Houston-based Stress Engineering Services Inc. CTLGroup provides structural and architectural engineering/consulting services and materials testing services.

M.A. Mortenson Co. of Minneapolis has announced the additions in Milwaukee of Craig Voight as senior superintendent and Mark McVay as safety engineer. Voight transferred from Minneapolis, and McVay was previously operations assistant/safety and training coordinator for Quikrete in Sussex, Wis. Mortenson is a contractor.

James Murphy was named senior project manager of Darien-based Wight & Co. He was previously principal/owner of MRF Ltd. in Western Springs. Wight provides architecture, construction and engineering services.

Donald White was named office director of Peoria-based PSA-Dewberry. He was previously an independent architect. PSA-Dewberry is a design firm.

Rick Dodd was named director of business development of St. Louis-based Hastings & Chivetta Architects. He was previously athletic director, chief financial officer and associate head of Shattuck-St. Mary’s School Faribault, Minn. Hastings & Chivetta is a design firm.

Katrinka Bourne has joined Eau Claire, Wis.-based Ayres Associates as an architect. She was previously campus architect of North Dakota State University in Fargo. Ayres is an architecture/engineering firm.

Loebl Schlossman & Hackl of Chicago has announced Wilson Chow and Pierre Moulinier were named architectural designers. Chow was previously an employee of Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum in Chicago, and Moulinier was previously project architect with Nia Architects in Chicago. LSH is a design firm.

Geotechnology Inc. of St. Louis has announced the additions of Kendra Adams as quality manager and staff engineer and Justin Perry as staff scientist. Adams was previously an employee of the Netherlands’ Fugro Consultants, and Perry was previously an employee of TSI Engineering Inc. in St. Louis. Geotechnology offers services in geotechnical, materials testing and geophysics.

Jonah Ginsburg was named project engineer in St. Louis of Kansas City, Mo.-based Walton Construction. He was previously self employed as a residential contractor in St. Louis. Walton is a contractor.

PROMOTIONS

Thornton-Tomasetti Inc. of New York has advanced two principals in Chicago, Carol Post and Thomas Poulos. Both continue as vice presidents. Thornton-Tomasetti is an engineering firm.

Ayres Associates of Eau Claire, Wis., has announced two executive vice presidents were named, Thomas Pulse and Jan Zander. Pulse was previously vice president and manager of engineering services, and Zander was previously vice president. Ayres is an architecture/engineering firm.

Michael Weiner was named associate principal of Chicago-based Loebl Schlossman & Hackl. He was previously project manager. LSH is a design firm.

Walton Construction of Kansas City, Mo., has announced the promotions of four in St. Louis: Ron Glaser to vice president of preconstruction services from manager of preconstruction services; Tom Kaiman to operations manager from project director; Bert Warbington to project director from senior project manager; and Jacob Pleger to assistant project manager from project engineer. Walton is a contractor

Peter Harris was named associate of Vernon Hills-based STS. He is a business development manager in the water resources practice. STS provides planning, design and construction engineering.

CTLGroup of Skokie has announced Ann Caffero was named microscopy team leader, and Jerzy Zemajtis was advanced to manager of the Materials Consulting team. Caffero was previously microscopist, and Zemajtis was previously senior engineer and project manager. CTLGroup provides structural and architectural engineering/consulting services and materials testing services.

Diane Hirson was named director of marketing for St. Louis-based Hastings & Chivetta Architects. She was previously senior marketing coordinator. Hastings & Chivetta is a design firm.

M.A. Mortenson Co. of Minneapolis has announced the promotions in Milwaukee of Ben Anderson to assistant superintendent from project engineer; Brian Boecker to project manager from assistant project manager; Mike Gleeson, also to project manager from assistant project manager; Brad King to assistant superintendent from project engineer; Josh Skogman to assistant project manager from project engineer; and Kurt Theune to project manager from assistant project manager. Mortenson is a contractor.

HONORS & APPOINTMENTS

Daniel Walsh, president of Chicago-based Walsh Construction Co., is a recipient of the Rerum Novarum Award. Presented by St. Joseph College Seminary of Loyola University in Chicago, Rerum Novarum honors leaders in labor, business and government who are outstanding in the support of the dignity of the human being, human labor, the right to organize and the right to a living wage. Walsh is a contractor.
