HIRES

Russ Burns was named interim president and member of the board of director of St. Louis-based Clayco. He was previously executive vice president of New York-based Turner Construction Co. Clayco provides development, design and construction work.

David Barger was named assistant executive director and director of the Fair Contracting Committee of the Construction Industry Service Corp. in Oak Brook. He was previously business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 150 in Libertyville. CISCO is a labor-management association.

Kevin Michols was named senior consultant of Northbrook-based Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. He was previously vice president of Skokie-based CTLGroup Inc. WJE provides services in architecture, structural engineering and materials science.

The Real Estate Center at DePaul University in Chicago has announced Stephen Bell was named associate director and adjunct professor in the Department of Finance; Marc Smith was named director of the Data Clearinghouse Project; and Stacie Young was named director of the Interagency Coordinating Council. Bell was previously senior real estate executive with CB Richard Ellis in Chicago; Smith was previously associate professor and extension housing specialist in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison; and Young was previously an assistant to Chicago Mayor Richard Daley on affordability. The Real Estate Center provides real estate education, research and career enrichment.

John Rank III was named vice president of preconstruction of Indianapolis-based Lauth. He was previously chief estimator of the Beck Group in Phoenix. Lauth is a developer.

Alberici Constructors of St. Louis has announced five hires: James Klingensmith as project director, Lincoln Boschert as director of healthcare business development, Dan Gettemeier as senior estimator, Dan Nottmeyer as project manager and Corey Hayes as safety project coordinator. Klingensmith was previously multi-project executive of Providence, R.I.-based Gilbane Building Co.; Boschert was previously vice president of sales for St. Louis-based HBE Corp.; Gettemeier was previously estimator for Beach Electric Contractors; Nottmeyer was previously project coordinator of Indianapolis-based Lauth Property Group; and Hayes was previously a student. Alberici is a general contractor.

Xuiping Feng was named associate materials scientist in the Materials Testing and Analysis Group of Skokie-based CTLGroup. She was previously research assistant at Canada’s University of New Brunswick. CTLGroup provides testing, research and consulting services in cementitious, concrete and other materials.

Paric Corp. of St. Louis has announced that Christie Judd was named human resources manager and Doug Schneider was named project estimator. Judd was previously director of operations for Shaughnessy in St. Louis, and Schneider was previously project engineer for CRB Builders, also in St. Louis.

Edward Fitch was named director of marketing of Woodridge, Ill.-based V3 Cos. He was previously area president of the southern region of the Chicago market for Town & Country Homes. V3 is a civil engineering firm.

Eric Galles was named director of information technology business integration of Fond du Lac, Wis.-based J.F. Ahern Co. He was previously director of information technology consulting services with Mercury Marine, also in Fond du Lac. Ahern is a mechanical and fire-protection contractor.

Tony Bedi was named superintendent in St. Louis of Kansas City, Mo.-based Walton Construction Co. He was previously a project manager/superintendent with Pangea Inc. in St. Louis. Walton is a contractor.

Bruce Roth was named senior associate of Chicago-based OKW Architects. He was previously senior associate/senior project manager with Chicago-based McBride Kelley Baurer Architect. OKW is a design firm.

Robert Beer was named project manager of Indianapolis-based BSA LifeStructures. He was previously connection systems manager for Delphi Automotive Systems in Kokomo, Ind. BSA is a design firm.

Gilbane Building Co. of Providence, R.I., has announced the additions in Milwaukee of Jamie Spartz as named virtual construction engineer and Tarlei Lewis and John Tocci as associate virtual construction engineers. Spartz was previously CAD manager with Plunkett Raysich Architects in Milwaukee, and Lewis was and Tocci were previously students. Gilbane is a contractor.

PROMOTIONS

Faz Ehsan was named senior vice president and continues as principal in Chicago of New York-based Thornton Tomasetti Inc. He was previously vice president. Thornton Tomasetti is a structural engineering firm.

Doug May was named purchasing manager in Chicago of New York-based Turner Construction Co. He was previously senior project manager. Turner is a contractor.

Steve Sieckhaus was named chief operating officer of St. Louis-based Clayco. He was previously vice president of operations in the firm’s construction group. Clayco provides development, design and construction work.

Will Maltby was named associate principal of Indianapolis-based BSA LifeStructures. He was previously senior associate. BSA is a design firm.

Clement Mitchell was named president and CEO of St. Louis-based Fru-Con Construction Corp. He was previously executive vice president. Fru-Con is a construction and engineering firm.

Gilbane Building Co. of Providence, R.I., has announced the promotions in Milwaukee of Bob Fenlon to senior project executive from project executive; John Grunau to senior project engineer from project engineer; David Kwiatkowski to area superintendent from assistant superintendent; Nate Gebert to assistant project manager from project engineer; and Michelle Skaar to human resources generalist from human resources administrator. Gilbane is a contractor.

Dominic Marino was named vice president of Waukegan Roofing Co. Inc. He was previously commercial project manager. Waukegan is a contractor.

Jeff Shipp was promoted to safety manager of Walton Construction in St. Louis. He was previously superintendent. Walton is a contractor.

HONORS & APPOINTMENTS

Jeff Dailey, chief engineer of the Downers Grove-based Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, was named Person of the Year by the McLean, Va.-based Construction Management Association of America. The CMAA’s foremost honor, the award recognizes innovative, influential and quality-driven individuals in construction and program management.

Kenneth Voigt, senior traffic engineer in the Waukesha office of Eau Claire, Wis.-based Ayres Associates, was elected international vice president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers in Washington, D.C. Ayres is a consulting engineering firm.
